Espresso Old Fashioned

There is no hiding that the Chocolate Old Fashioned is my go to cocktail. It is a sure fire winner when trying to impress other mixologist’s as well as “non bourbon” drinkers. One way to make chocolate more decadent is to add coffee. I rinse the glass with espresso prior to pouring the Chocolate Old Fashioned over the ice. I add just a pinch of coffee grounds to the mixture. The grounds soak in the cocktail and then pop in your mouth when you bite them.
Espresso Old Fashioned
- 1 oz espresso
- 2 oz premium bourbon
- .5 oz 100% agave nectar
- 2 dashes of chocolate bitters
- pinch of ground coffee
Rinse the serving glass with espresso and add a large ice block. In a mixing glass combine remaining ingredients. Fill with ice. Stir and strain into the prepared glass.
